A couple of months ago, I ordered a quarter hog from The Piggery and promptly forgot about it. I got a reminder email telling me that in two months, I would start receiving my shipments of pig.
The warm weather has rolled in a few weeks early and it’s been great to get such an early start on farm work. We were able to plant our 35+ acres of pastures in March which was amazing. We’re already seeing significant growth and can start rotating the pigs on fresh clover and grass soon. We think they pigs are as sick of hay as we are of moving heavy bales around every day:)
The pigs are all doing really well. We have about 45 new piglets running around the farm and the bigger pigs are doing a good job of teaching them how to do piggy stuff. We’ll have some new pics to share with you soon.
I read that and imagined the little piggies rooting around and thought, “Soon I will eat you.”
